How do I protect myself from debt collectors?

THE LAW.  Some agencies use abusive practices that contradict federal laws. Let’s say it clearly: The majority of us have had debt problems and when we have this type of problem we also have it with the collectors. Did you know that debt collectors must respect a federal law when attempting to collect a debt? Did you know that you have rights that will protect your from abuses? Below I will offer you some information that will help you in case you are ever in this type of situation. The federal law I mentioned is called the “Fair Debt Collection Practices Act” (FDCPA). It amended the Consumer Protection Act (CPA) to prohibit abusive practices by debt collectors.

We’ve all heard the commercials from these referral services claiming, "YOU MAY BE ENTITLED TO $10,000.00 IF YOU HAVE BEEN IN A CAR ACCIDENT!" What they fail to tell you is??!!

One of the most frequent questions people ask me is: "Edgar, I just bought a car and I have been told to buy auto insurance, but I am not sure if it is necessary to buy insurance and what type of coverage I would need. A wrongful death is a death that was caused through the fault of another person. Both individuals and companies can be found liable in wrongful death cases. The most common cases of wrongful death are:
